Join us this fall for one of our fantastic Bible Study groups!
The Lost Arts Series is a new initiative by MUMC that focuses on "old-timey" crafts and skills that are seemingly fading away. We think there is great value in learning these skills so that they may be carried into future generations.
Join us this fall for a class on quilting and needlework with Frankie Regenauer that will take place Wed, Oct. 10th at 6:30pm. Then consider joining us for a candy making class with Lee Etta Scott on Wednesday, Nov. 7th at 6:30pm. Both of these classes will take place here at MUMC on Old Shelbyville Road.
July is our month to stock Eastern Area Community Ministries food pantry with high-demand non-perishable foods. You may bring items throughout the month of July and place them in the collection bins in both worship centers. Examples of food are: diced tomatoes, canned tuna, canned chicken, boxed cereal, instant oatmeal, jelly, ramen noodles and mac n cheese. EACM cannot accept any foods that have passed their expiration date.
Introducing our new sermon series - Faith Works.
Faith can be classified many different ways but we think most succinctly it can be boiled down into these 5 verbs. Faith does, faith loves, faith speaks, faith learns and faith endures.
Come on out and join us July 1st, July 8th, July 15th, July 22nd and July 29th to hear all about how faith works in a life filled with God. We have a service at 8:30am and two services at 11:00am.
The Brunch Club meets the 3rd Sunday of each month following both 11 a.m. worship services. The Brunch Club is for guests, regular attendees, and members who do not have a small group or Sunday School Class. We will enjoy brunch from a different location each month - if you have suggestions, please tell someone. Just meet in the Gym following worship.
You can now register for this event. Registration forms are on a table in the Narthex with a box beside them for your filled-out registration form and entrance fee of $80/each ($75/each if in by Aug. 5th). If you do not have a 4-some, no problem! Just fill out the registration with whoever you have (even if it is just yourself) and we’ll pair you up with others to make a 4-some. The proceeds of this golf scramble benefit the children of the Lighthouse Academy at Newburg.
We are also holding a Silent Auction the day before the scramble. We are now accepting donated items to be placed in the Silent Auction that will be held on August 19-20th. Due to space limitations during construction, this year we are asking that any donations be new items, certificates, or tickets. We will also take gently used sports items. Please contact Judy Kirkpatrick, 245-7160 or firstname.lastname@example.org, if you have anything you wish to donate.
The Silent Auction benefits the Wesley Foundation at U of L (The Gathering), Portland Promise Center, and Camp Loucon, as well as the Lighthouse Academy at Newburg.
