Once again this year we will be collecting books for children of Hite and Middletown Elementary Schools. After the books are collected, they will be taken to Hite and Middletown Elementary Schools and distributed to those children in need. They will be able to take a book home for the Christmas holiday and keep it for their very own.
All books are available through Amazon.com (look into the Amazon Smile program when you order to help give back to MUMC) and range in price from $6.26 to $17.99.
The book tags will be on white trees and available in the Narthex, Connection Center, and the entryway by the new elevator next to the Narthex. Please return your books by Sunday, December 16, to the collection tubs next to these trees.
Thank you so very much for helping children to gain a love for reading.

Middletown United Methodist Church is beginning a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group with an informal gathering on Friday, December 7th, from 9:00am to 12:00noon. Childcare, as well as our meeting location, will be downstairs in the Adult Wing of the main church building. Hostesses will be available by the front glass entry doors underneath the white tents to greet you and help you find your way.
MOPS is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring woman to be the best parents possible. MOPS groups are a special place you may meet like-minded women also passing through this unique stage of life. You will have the opportunity to not only meet new friends, but discover a wealth of helpful hints and smart strategies to deal with the challenges of motherhood.
Typical meetings begin with a breakfast, followed by a speaker presenting information on a topic such as parenting, marriage, nutrition or spiritual growth. Afterwards we multiply into small discussion groups and end with a creative activity or craft.
At this initial gathering, we will learn more about MOPS and determine a convenient day of the month to meet. There is no charge for this December 7th gathering.
