Tuesdays, 9:30am beginning January 14th in the Connection Center, Leader: Nancy Tinnell

Deborah: Unlikely Heroes and the Book of Judges (Sandra L. Richter)

The book of Judges narrates one of the most chaotic and morally dark eras of Israel’s story. Into this ambiguous time comes one of the most unlikely leaders of the Bible—the prophet Deborah. Deborah says “yes” to God’s calling and leads Israel out of chaos into one of the most pivotal military victories of her time. This study invites us to ask ourselves the same questions God asked of Deborah and Barak: (1) What territory can you see that you know belongs to the Kingdom of God but is not yet in the hands of God’s people? (2) Is it worth fighting for? (3) Are you willing to step out in faith and trust God for the victory?

Wednesday Book Study

Wednesdays, 6:30pm beginning January 22nd in the Tinnell Center, Room 026, Leader Gary Gibson

World Religions (Adam Hamilton)

Join Pastor Gary for this 6-week exploration of the world’s major religions. This new, fully updated book explores four major world religions—Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism—and compares the beliefs of each with those of Christianity. He deals openly and honestly with questions people ask about other religions, such as:

Why are there so many different religions?

How should Christians view other religions?

How is God at work in other religions?

What is the fate of those who earnestly pursue God through other religions?

In examining these major world religions and the beliefs of their followers, Hamilton urges us as Christians to build bridges with others so that we might grow in our faith, seek peace in our world, love our neighbors, and find positive ways to share the gospel. Books will be available from Pastor Gary.
