Crafting the Recipe for Success in Your Faith Journey.

We encourage each of our members to participate in a group of some sort. In this way, each of us can grow in God’s grace and experience what Christ intended for the Church – that it be filled with faithful disciples.

We believe that if you are connected in a small group and serving in a ministry area that you enjoy – then you have crafted the recipe for success in your faith journey.

All of our small groups, bible studies, etc. are open to non-members. All are welcome. If you are interested in any of our groups and want more information, let us know. We will put you in touch with the leader.

Sunday School (9:40am-10:50am)

Middletown United Methodist Church is blessed to have an active adult Sunday School program. In many ways, they are the heartbeat of the church, as they study God’s Word and serve in missions together. Though we have stated approximate ages for each class, you will be warmly welcomed in any group, and we encourage you to visit more than one before deciding where you might stay.

All of our Sunday School classes are located in the Lower Level. If you need assistance finding a class just ask one of our greeters – they will be happy to assist!

Home Fellowship Groups

Home Fellowship Groups (HFGs) are more informal gatherings for study and prayer. HFG members appreciate having a spiritual boost on a weeknight, and appreciate having more time for discussion in a smaller home group.

Carrie and Kyle Carden are inviting other young families to their home (children included) to discuss thoughts and ideas about faith and life, while the children are engaged with a sitter. The atmosphere will definitely be casual. The Carden HFG will meet on second Thursdays of the month from 6pm-7:30pm. Contact Carrie if you are interested in joining this group.

The Fairfield HFG meets on Monday nights at 7 pm at the home of Carol Archibald. They have room for more! If you are interested in small group Bible study and prayer, they would welcome your participation. Steve and Diane Fairfield were one of our first couples to explore home groups as a path to discipleship. Hospitality and mutual support are the hallmarks of their group. Call Diane Fairfield for more information. Contact Diane Fairfield if you are interested.

Do you appreciate the spiritual truths often represented in modern film? Viewpoint invites you to join them in their monthly discussion of a movie selection, probing it for faith messages and inspiration. Whether a newer film or an older classic, a movie narrative can sometimes express themes in ways not only beautiful but convincingly strong. This is accomplished with skillful use of characters and plots or visuals and sounds that resonate in us at a deep level. Interested? Contact Margo Grace.

Motto: “You never know what life has on tap, but it’s always better when shared with friends.” The Rotators will focus on building solid foundational relationships within the group to guide each other in the art of crafting happiness. Rotators is a small group of men comprised of friends, colleagues, acquaintances gathering together once a month to connect and celebrate life’s accomplishments, challenges and walk through life together. Women’s Ministry

Women’s ministry is such a beautiful gift. It’s a place where women of all different backgrounds can come together for friendship and fellowship, and can be encouraged in their walk with the Lord.

Women’s Ministry is Jesus-centered.  It’s all about helping other women to come to Christ and grow in Christ. It’s about encouraging people to understand the gospel, respond to the gospel and apply the gospel to every aspect of life. And that happens when women engage with God through his Word and prayer.

Looking for more info? Want to get involved? If so, please contact Nancy Tinnell.

Women’s Bible Studies & Groups

Coffeebreak Bible StudyImage Bible StudyBranches Book Club
Thursdays @ 9:30am

This Thursday morning time slot for women has been a part of MUMC’s spiritual formation ministry for several decades. Multiple studies are usually offered, with Beth Moore Bible studies and those of other current authors remaining a staple of Coffeebreak curriculum.

Tuesdays @ 9:30am

Image Bible Study was created to give women the opportunity to study and serve together. The class spectrum ranges from women with years of Bible study experience all the way over to those who are just beginning. This is a time to go deeper into scripture and even have the opportunity to live out your faith through occasional service projects. Curriculum is diverse and made enjoyable through both large group and small group discussion.

Sept-Nov & Jan-Apr

Meeting on the fourth Monday of the months listed above, Branches Book Club gives women a time to gather for fellowship and discussion of Christian fiction and non-fiction works. Book authors are frequent guests so this is certainly an exciting group to be a part of!
