Roots Youth Ministry is for students in grades 6-12 who want to explore ideas, values, and faith in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment. This community of peers and adults helps students connect with Jesus and grow as a follower of Christ as they navigate their journey through middle and high school.
Sunday School
Sunday School meets in the Loft on the second floor of our Gym building, from 9:40-10:40am (view map). This is an opportunity to dig into God’s word and grow in faith, fellowship with others, have some fun, engage in meaningful discussion together.
Sunday Afternoons
During the school year, we meet on Sunday afternoons in the Loft (view map) from 4:30-6:30. Snacks and high-energy activities are balanced out by biblically-grounded teaching and age-appropriate small groups. The summers are also full of activities and special events. Jennifer Gilcreast grew up in western PA near Pittsburgh. She graduated from Asbury University (piano performance) and Notre Dame (MM), playing the organ where she attended. She taught music in Jessamine and Bullitt counties, and teaches choir and music at Highlands Latin School. She has 4 children age 18-24. Hobbies include cookings, reading, and being in nature.
