November 11th is Veterans Day, a day set aside to recognize and support military veterans who have served our country. In observance of Veterans Day, we will again be collecting books and clothing during the month of November. All types of men’s and women’s clothing in good condition can be donated as well as new and used books. The Veterans Affairs hospitals have specifically requested crossword and other types of puzzle books in addition to new decks of playing cards. Donated items can be dropped off in the lobby donation room. The collected items will be delivered to Veterans Affairs hospitals and veteran support organizations in our region for use by veterans receiving treatment. Audio books and movies (VHS and DVD) are welcome as well. The book and clothing drive will begin 1 November and run through 1 December.
If you will be making a delivery to the church during a weekday, please call the church office in advance so that they can arrange access to the donation room.
If you are bagging your donations, we will have labels in the donation room that you can stick to the outside of the bag to indicate it is designated for the Veteran’s Collection.

Jennifer Gilcreast grew up in western PA near Pittsburgh. She graduated from Asbury University (piano performance) and Notre Dame (MM), playing the organ where she attended. She taught music in Jessamine and Bullitt counties, and teaches choir and music at Highlands Latin School. She has 4 children age 18-24. Hobbies include cookings, reading, and being in nature.
