Mother’s Day Prayer
God, we give you thanks for all the women who raised us, and we lift them up in prayer. We thank you for the moms, step-moms, adoptive moms, and
mother figures who love and care for us everyday, who wipe our tears, and who teach us about You and Your love.
We pray for moms who are in the day-to-day of raising their children, for moms whose children are grown and moving out, and for pregnant women who are looking forward to being moms. We pray for women who long to be mothers, and for those deciding if motherhood is their path.
We pray for all who have lost their mother, we pray for those who never had love or support from their mother, and we pray for mothers who have lost a child. Give them comfort and hope in their grief.
Lord, we thank you for the gift of motherhood, and for the mothers and mother figures in our lives. They bless our lives in so many ways. Bless them on this special day; in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Jennifer Gilcreast grew up in western PA near Pittsburgh. She graduated from Asbury University (piano performance) and Notre Dame (MM), playing the organ where she attended. She taught music in Jessamine and Bullitt counties, and teaches choir and music at Highlands Latin School. She has 4 children age 18-24. Hobbies include cookings, reading, and being in nature.
