MEDIA MINISTRY

All Glory to God.

At MUMC, we seek to glorify God through our worship, and to encounter God through study of the Word. We gather each week to pray, sing, remember, and learn together, that through our worship we might come face to face with the Divine.

Across our three services, our worship is vibrant and authentic because of the gifts that God’s people bring to offer each Sunday, from an uplifted song to the sharing of a prayer or a dramatic reading of scripture. We are called to worship God with all our hearts, and here at MUMC we would invite you to join us to worship, and to get involved in our music, media, and worship ministries, which are open to all!

Music Ministry

Worship Choir

The Worship Choir leads every week in the 8:30am and 11am sanctuary worship services and for special seasonal worship services. They also prepare a programmatic concert each Christmas to share the story of the birth of Christ with the church and the community. They rehearse on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 8:00pm in the Choir Room, located in the lower level. No experience is necessary, only a love of music and a love of Jesus, and the desire to share both with the church!

Ignite Band

The Ignite Band is the music leadership for the Ignite worship service, playing a range of new and classic-contemporary Christian music to lead the church in singing and worship. They rehearse on Saturdays, and always welcome newcomers! If you are interested in joining the Ignite Band please contact band leader Phil Rowley.

Children’s Choir & Chimes

The Sonshine Choir meets on Wednesday Nights at 6:00 pm in the Peacemakers Classroom for ages 3-5. The Hallelujah Kids Choir also meets Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in the Children’s Music Room on the second level. This group is for kids in K-3rd Grade.

The Children’s Chimes rehearse on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 7:10pm in the Children’s Music Room on the second level, and is open to children from 1st through 8th grades. They play in worship four times a year.

Chancel Bells

The Chancel Bells are a 5-octave handbell ensemble that plays in worship in the sanctuary on a monthly basis from September to June. They rehearse in the sanctuary choir loft on Wednesday nights from 5:30 – 6:25pm. No experience is necessary.

Joyful Noise Orchestra

The Joyful Noise Orchestra plays in worship in the sanctuary on a monthly basis from September to June. They rehearse in the sanctuary on Wednesday nights from 8:00 – 9:00pm. All instruments are welcome!

BellaNotés

The BellaNotés is an advanced handbell group that focuses on small-ensemble playing (quartets, quintets, etc.) They rehearse in the sanctuary choir loft on Monday nights from 6:30 – 7:30pm, and play in worship twice a season. Prior handbell experience is required; small-ensemble ringing techniques are helpful but not required.

One Voice

The One Voice ensemble is an all-women’s vocal ensemble whose repertoire spans traditional to contemporary Christian music. They lead in worship on a bi-monthly basis, and welcome newcomers! They rehearse on Sunday mornings before the Sunday School hour.

Worship Ministry

Our Worship Committee is a gathering of laypersons committed to supporting the worship of the church, and they serve on a weekly basis with things such as setting up communion and changing the altar paraments, and on a seasonal basis with decorating the worship spaces in the sanctuary and Connection Center for Advent, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost.

Media Ministry

Our worship would not be possible without the youth and adult volunteers that support our audio-visual technologies in all of our services. The Media Ministry team sets up microphones, monitors, runs the sound board and worship slides.

We are always looking for more people to join this ministry! Please do not think you have to be an expert with technology – the entire process can be taught in a matter of a couple Sundays. It is an extremely rewarding position that is absolutely crucial to the success of Sunday mornings.
