Early this year…
our trusty Sanctuary organ had a series of major component failures, and was sent out for a “retrofit” at Phoenix Organs in Ontario, Canada. Retrofit meaning we’ve kept the parts that are perfectly fine– the wood case of the console, the speakers, the pedals, the bench– and have completely taken out the internal workings that failed, replacing it all with a new system that will serve us well going forward.
After being away since March, our organ has finally returned to us! It was delivered on the morning of November 21st, 2019 and brought back to it’s home in the Sanctuary. Many thanks go out to Phoenix Organs, those who helped move the instrument, and to the congregation for helping to fund this project.
The cost of the work…
including shipping, is $72,000. Some donations have already been made to help cover this cost, and we are grateful for the generosity. This repair was a major surprise and of course there were no provisions for expenditures of this size, especially considering our building remodel expansion. So far we have received an incredible $23,762 towards the organ. We can’t thank you enough for your support.
