ROOTS is for students in 6th–12th grade who are looking for a place to belong, have fun, ask questions, and figure out what following Jesus looks like in real life.
You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to know all the Bible answers. You don’t even have to know many people when you walk through the door.
Just come as you are.
At ROOTS, you’ll find people who want to know you, leaders who care about you, and a community where you can laugh, learn, worship, ask hard questions, and grow together.
ROOTS is about…
HAVING FUN
Games, food, trips, special events, and plenty of time to just hang out. Church should be a place where you actually enjoy being.
GROWING IN FAITH
We open the Bible, talk about Jesus, ask honest questions, and explore what faith looks like outside the church building.
FINDING COMMUNITY
Middle school and high school can be a lot. ROOTS gives you people to laugh with, talk with, pray with, and do life with.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Faith isn’t just something we talk about. We want students to discover how they can serve, lead, care for others, and make a difference in their community.

Sunday School
9:40am-10:40am (Meets in The Loft)
Start your Sunday with us!
Sunday School is a chance to slow down, grab a donut, open the Bible, and have real conversations about faith and life.
We’ll explore Scripture, ask questions, talk about what’s happening in the world around us, and discover what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.
And don’t worry—friends are always welcome.
Roots Gathering
Sundays – 4:30-6:30pm – The Loft
This is where ROOTS really comes alive.
Every Sunday afternoon, we get together for two hours of games, food, friends, teaching, and small groups.
Some weeks might involve a ridiculous game. Some might involve a serious conversation. Some might involve both.
We’ll laugh. We’ll eat. We’ll learn. We’ll ask questions. We’ll talk about Jesus. We’ll probably make some memories along the way.
After our large-group time, students break into age-appropriate small groups with caring adult leaders. It’s a chance to go deeper, talk about what’s actually happening in your life, and build relationships that last.
Whether you’ve been in church your whole life or you’re just checking it out, there’s a place for you here.
More than Sundays
ROOTS doesn’t stop when Sunday ends.
Throughout the year, we get together for special events, service opportunities, trips, meals, retreats, day-away experiences, and student gatherings.
We also create opportunities for middle school and high school students to connect in ways that fit their age and stage of life.
There’s always something happening at ROOTS—and there’s always room for one more.
Parents, we’ve got you too.
We know that choosing a youth ministry is a big deal.
ROOTS is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where students can build meaningful relationships with both peers and trusted adult leaders.
We want parents to know what’s happening, where their students are, and who is investing in them. Communication, safety, and relationships matter to us.
Most importantly, we want students to know that they are seen, valued, and loved by God—and that they have a place in the life of the church right now.

You don’t need to sign up for a year.
You don’t need to bring a Bible.
You don’t need to know anybody.
Just show up.

Jennifer Gilcreast grew up in western PA near Pittsburgh. She graduated from Asbury University (piano performance) and Notre Dame (MM), playing the organ where she attended. She taught music in Jessamine and Bullitt counties, and teaches choir and music at Highlands Latin School. She has 4 children age 18-24. Hobbies include cookings, reading, and being in nature.
