Each year, the United Methodist Men of the Middletown United Methodist Church host a Silent Auction and a Golf Scramble, the proceeds of which benefit the Lighthouse Academy at Newburg.
The Lighthouse Academy is vital community center in the Newburg area that seeks to bring about long-term positive spiritual, moral, and educational change in the lives of children. In operation since 1999, the Lighthouse typically enrolls over 100 children in their fall after-school program, and another 80 in their summer program – all tuition-free! During the regular school year, opportunities are offered in homework assistance, choir, dance, art, karate, and career choices.
The Lighthouse depends upon the generosity of individuals, churches, corporations, and foundations to provide operating funds – and your generous support of our Silent Auction and Golf Scramble is greatly appreciated!
This year, the MUMC auction and scramble raised $19,360.38 for the Lighthouse Academy at Newburg.

Jennifer Gilcreast grew up in western PA near Pittsburgh. She graduated from Asbury University (piano performance) and Notre Dame (MM), playing the organ where she attended. She taught music in Jessamine and Bullitt counties, and teaches choir and music at Highlands Latin School. She has 4 children age 18-24. Hobbies include cookings, reading, and being in nature.
